The boat I work on was off the coast of MacDill for the airshow both days. The Thunderbirds were fucking nuts weren't they? I was impressed, that's for sure.

I really enjoyed it! I love planes.. I'm such a dork, but my favorite is the C-130. I always wanted to fly NOAA planes into hurricanes.

The plane NOAA flies into hurricanes is not a C-130. It's a P-3 Orion, which is a decends from the Lockheed Electra.

bad memories of NOAA...mainly because of the morning runs from the old "falcons nest" barracks to the NOAA building and back before chow.

In agreement with Elmer, C-130 is my Fav. plane too. You seen the new J models god are they sexy.
And to add to what Mr. Scottly said; The NOAA P-3's (referred to as Mrs. Piggy, withonly 2 in existence 1 being based out of Macdill) fly into hurricanes, as well the USAF does also fly the WC-130 into hurricanes they are based out of Keesler AFB (which ironically got the shit beat out of it by Hurricane Katrina)
So if you want to fly into hurricanes you can do it through either, if you want to fly the C-130 you can go into USAF, USMC, USN, and USCG (am I missing any?)

Um....to qualify what you said, NOAA may only have 2 P-3's, but the Navy has a shitload of them and has used them as submarine hunters for years, still does.

I've got F22 pics in my gallery. Though, they were taken with a really crappy camera (one of the first group of digital cameras... really sucky).

I actually turned down an aviation contract with the Air Force when I graduated from High School. It has been one of my only regrets... but I love what I do now, so its ok! I am actually going for my first flying lesson with my dad on Tuesday... Hope that I can keep the needle on the horizon!

Childhood dream for me was to be an F-16 pilot.
Favorite movie was Iron Eagle.
Still wish that I had gone and done that. Oh well.
I would LOVE to take flying lessons.
