Oh the color is so pretty. I've never had one. I did have some apple vodka one time and it smelled really good, but I didn't like the taste. BLAH!

^Not to worry, sour apple vodka is not the same as a Sour Apple Martini. Personally, I'm not too fond of apple favored vodka either. I suggest Grey Goose vodka for the smoothest taste.
A good way to explain the taste of this drink, when properly made, is somewhat like a Sour Apple Jolly Rancher candy.

Ladies- I'd be happy to either make you a Sour Apple Martini or take you out for martinis/drinks. ...either would be my pleasure. 
As for the name, the actual name of the drink is a "Sour Apple Martini"...it was not called an "Appletini" until bars (especially chain restaurants) and such started looking for a name that was high in cute-factor in order to increase appeal to women- not to mention that the show Sex in the City started calling it by the Appletini name and thus (like so many other things from that show), the name caught on in society. Sadly, the Appletini name is WRONG!
Summary: The drink is a "Sour Apple Martini", and NOT an "Appletini"!
