i don't even know if it's human. I say that b/c the ribs are pretty big and round. Also it's a good thing to know the orientation of the body. Left, right, superior, inferior, and at what veterbral level. Those are all big clues as to what we're looking at.
That's why i asked for a discription

That would be a very large heart if it was a heart. Also, you can see the fat around the heart through the pericardium which you cannot see in this case. That might be a lung or a liver instead. But i'm going to go ahead and rule out human heart.
The ribs are still quite round to be human. Human ribs are relatively flat and have a pretty distinct costal groove for the vein, artery, and nerve (in that order).

The organ appears to be larger than a fist. In addition, the organ is also very red meaning that there is a high volume of blood flow to the tissue (liver or lung as opposed to muscle). Once again, you would see the fat around the heart and there is no fat. There is also no coronary veins or arteries showing if the fat was removed. There is not a clear apex or base. I'm not sure what you are referring to. There are also no major arteries or veins leading into or coming out of the presumed "heart."
Another interesting finding is the structure that is going what appears to be posterior. It looks a lot like a trachea b/c of the rings of cartilage. We are quite anterior in the chest cavity since we cannot see the posterior wall.

Hah you are right about the ribs, it's actually a photo of a dolphin necropsy, taken at Dolphin Island Alabama. Maybe I'll post some more for shock value later.
