At the hospital they did nothing because the doctor said the piece of glass wasn't big enough to worry about.

^^ So basically your friend coughed a little bit, had trouble swallowing and was then ok. She went to the hospital to be told that there was nothing to do. And she doesn't bother to look at things before placing them in her mouth.

Well it wasn't like there was a HUGE chunk of glass missing. It was like a slither. She was okay by the next week. They didn't do anything because, well, it's not like you can put a band aid inside your throat.
