Um...line the pockets of the what? Im sorry, but as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, I make less money than most people in the USA that make minimum wage. I get paid shit to fight, kill, and die for my country. There are no politics involved when I pull the trigger, so dont even start your "political agenda", blah, blah, blah, bullsh*t. There infact maybe political reasons for my presence in Iraq, but those reasons are not mine to question or even know. My duty as a U.S. Marine is to follow orders without question.

I don't like the fact that you're taking pictures of all these corpses.

But I like your attitude, Marine.

oh thats right we went to war for OIL, that is such BS.
If you watch the sum of all fears, you will understand why we went to war.

you would think people such as mellomel would have more respect for the men and women who give up so much (and willingly I might add) to keep us safe. Even though she neglected to say it, I thank you for the sacrifices you have made for us and this country. You are what makes this country so great.

I too am grateful for those who are brave enough to stand up and protect our country, but I find comments like that a bit troubling and would like to have a better understanding of them. If I am put into a position where I have to go into another country and possibly take lives, I don't know if I would be able to refrain from questioning the reasons behind it. Can you elaborate a little more on those comments? Like I said, I'd like to have a better understanding of how someone can manage to think that way.

it is not his job to assess the political climate nor is it his job to act on political beliefs. the commander-in-chief said go so he went, which is a hell of a lot more most have done. when someone tells you to do something, you do it. if you dont people standing right next to you which not 2 hours ago you were playing poker with die.

Okay, first of all...
I made a mistake posting these graffic pics up on this website.
I posted them because I wanted to save them and I could not email them home because Hotmail will not allow me to email pictures from my internet source/location. As soon as I get home to save them to my computer, I will take them off this website.

I want to apologize to anyone that I have offended by posting these pictures up...especially "mellomel". I am sorry if these pictures offend you, I am sorry if the Marine Corps being in Iraq offends you, and I am sorry if Marines killing terrorist offends you. However, I do not regret what I am doing over here. And I understand we all have or opinions...and I accept that. Believe it or not, I do understand where you are coming from...I do think about it a lot...about the dead people's families, about the people that Marines kill everyday...and about our purpose out here.

VersaTaur04, to elaborate more on my previous comment...
Have you ever read "A Message to Garcia"? You should. It pretty much somes up the behavior, duty, and responsiblity that a Marine has to his/her country and Corps. It is a very short story (about 10-15 pages) and it makes a very simple point...that the quality of an individual to follow orders withOUT question, no matter the circumstances is very hard to find, and that that quality is very valuable. Its all related to loyalty, integrity, and honor. Just a few things taught to Marines in the Marine Corps.

Questioning orders is fine...but in the Marine Corps a characteristic of a good leader is to keep your subordinates properly informed so that they have no desire to question. If I tell junior Marines to do something, they know its for a good reason...they will not question me, IF I am a good leader in their eyes. Before I even leave the United States I am already mentally prepared to take lives, and to give my life, for the Marine Corps and for the Unite States. Its hard to explain. Its just something that is taught to Marines from the first day they go to bootcamp. I believe that is why the Marine Corps is the strongest fighting force in the world. Yes, some may immediately think "brain washed"...but if you want to call unwavering die-hard loyalty being brain washed, fine. But it is what makes the Marine Corps what it is today.

"thebaby", you pretty much got it right...exactly how it is.
"ATLDrtybird7", thank you for your support. It feels good to know that someone out there feels that way.
Oh yeah, and about us being here for the oil...oh well, shit Im tired of paying more than $2 for a gallon of premium...haha, JUST KIDDING. (I dont wanna start another shit storm.)

Again, Im sorry for the gruesome pictures, and they will be gone in a few months.
