I'll stick with a flamethrower. Or a trebuchet.

i know it's inert because it has a big hole drilled into the bottom and it's empty. and it was only $8 at an army surplus store.
and i try not to break too many laws...and i'm sure it's illegal to own a live grenade.
and yeah...flamethrowers are pretty sweet.

eh...i think it'd take more than just stuffing it with powder to reprime it.
i'm gonna see if the store has any books that mention repriming it...if so, then i'd be down for blowing some shit up.

Nope, it's legal. Just a few things involved in it:
1) Has to be legally registered as a "Destructive Device" with the ATF
2) Every time you transfer said DD to someone, a $200 transfer tax (per DD, aka: per grenade) has to be paid to the ATF
3) Fill out the ATF paperwork, wait 6-8 months, and then get your grenade.
Same goes for LAWS rockets, mortars, machine guns, etc...
NOW: To "reactivate" that demilled grenade is HIGHLY illegal. That's some serious jailtime right there....

That's incorrect, Di. A few reasons why.
1) Gotta pull the pin, and release the handle for it to activate the fuse.
2) Fuse is cut in those, so you'd have to get a new method of ignition
Now: if you just filled it with FF blackpowder, sealed it tight, and ran, say, a firecracker fuse out of it, it'd blow up. Not sure that I'd recommend that, though...
