Why? Because of the pollution? Because the lake was on fire at one point? heh
I don't think it's all that bad anymore, but if that wasn't your reason for not going in then dismiss this :]

Yeah apparently it's safe to swim in now, but just looking down at the water, it looked really dirty. Far away it looks pretty but up close it looks really icky. A shame they let it get so polluted because it's really beautiful out there.
