it's bad pagecode :| as far as my understandinggoes , firefox is not as good at handling non-compliant code as other browsers. usually it's crappy javascript ad wrappers and stuff. i could be wrong.

The point is it's not actually using near that much... the CPU just thinks it's allocated. not sure what kind of page content triggers it, but it's a known FF2 bug. I've got only 256 mb of RAM on my laptop, no chance it would've survived that (had been running for probably a week or so - at work.
And yeah danny, talking about memory leaks. What's your major?

^ well... laptops shouldn't be up that long anyway. especially not old/budget ones/ones whose other memory chip died? :|
