This article is especially hilarious because one of my friends recently bought a scarf sort of thing from an estate sale that is literally three minks sewn together heads, feet, and all. The mouth of the one on the end was even turned into a clip so it doesn't fall off.

^ I don't think it's okay to kill any animal for a source of clothing. I've never owned anything made out of an animal's fur or hide.

How is that acting like my own ethnic group is better than anyone else's? My views aren't based on my ethnic group, they are based on the fact that I personally think killing any animal for clothing is wrong. Plenty of whities wear fur, hell, most of them do.

Why are you laughing at that? Cows are not pets - to me. I don't know anyone who has a pet cow. Pet meaning an animal you keep not in order to eat, but to bring you happiness and to raise.

Oh Jesus Christ.
I understand what Rach is saying. And she's right and not being ethnocentric. She accepts that other people have different views of animals and how they use them--whether pet or food. I don't know anyone who owns a cow for a pet either, but I don't deny the fact that some people in some culture somewhere has cows as pets. That's fine. It doesn't bother me any.
Talking from you cultural point of view =/= ethnocentrism. She's allowed to have her beliefs. CHRIST.

i'd agree with you last two, except this statement

disqualifies your defense as it seems to eschew the idea of people of other ethnicities keeping cows as pets (which they obviously do). i'm going to guess rachel didn't realize this because she's speaking strongly from her point of view.
